Learning Support

St Andrews has a well established reputation in Bangkok and Thailand for being an inclusive school.  Our school has developed a Learning Support team that seeks to help and extend children as they face educational challenges that become apparent as they develop. We pride ourselves on the wonderful diversity of our students.  The Learning Support Faculty at St Andrews is extensive, experienced and innovative. It is staffed by professional teachers who have extensive experience of working with children with a wide range of learning needs. They work in close collaboration with class teachers to ensure that the needs of each individual student are met within the mainstream classroom, small group or one to one support.  Students are supported especially through differentiated curricula and the use of assistive computer technology and software programmes.

Our teachers in collaboration with the Learning Support team seek to identify children who are not making the necessary progress so that support can be provided. This results in individual education plans being developed in collaboration with parents, class teachers and allied professionals so that the right assistance can be given to the particular child.  This caring environment has allowed many students the opportunity for an international education that might not otherwise be available to them.  We are also fortunate to have a high level of family involvement that contributes a great deal to the supportive environment we offer our students.

The SEN Parent Support Group welcomes all interested parents to become involved.St Andrews has a commitment to supporting our students with special educational needs throughout their education.  Students have the opportunity to study the highly regarded ASDAN course and to sit Entry Level IGCSE’s, as a complement to their other studies.

At St Andrews, we celebrate individuality and teach accordingly.
