Physical Education is offered both as part of the core curriculum for all years and at GCSE level in Years 10 and 11.  With 3 teachers in the department, PE at St Andrews continues to go from strength to strength. Every student in Early Years and Key Stage 1 has a double PE lesson per week which follows a curriculum set by the PE department and is then taught by their class teachers.  Students also have 1 swimming lesson per week taught by a swimming specialist.

In Key Stage 2 students recieve 1 double lesson of PE and 1 swimming lesson per week and these are taught by the PE department.  In KS 3, students participate in 1 double PE lesson and 1 double swim/fitness lesson per week.

The PE department organises many different activities at lunch times and these range from football to dodge ball to ultimate frisbee.  After school, squad training takes place and this gives our most talented and able students a chance to train as a team before taking on other schools in the TISAC league.

Competitive Sport:

St Andrews International School, Bangkok is a member of TISAC and participates regularly in sporting fixtures including football, athletics, basketball and swimming. Teams are drawn from across key stage 2 and High School and children train together with coaches during and after school. We have entered 7 basketball teams for this season and last year we also had 8 football teams and St Andrews was represented at all levels in badminton, athletics and swimming . An artificial football field is the newest sporting facility at St Andrews and we hope that this will consolidate our position in TISAC as one of the strongest footballing schools.

Other sports facilities at St Andrews include:

  • Indoor sports hall for Basketball, Volleyball and Badminton
  • 25 metre swimming pool
  • Multi purpose outdoor area for Cricket, Football, Softball, Ultimate Frisbee and Athletics
